Caring For Resin

  • Resin cannot be left in direct sunlight. Due to the chemicals in the resin, direct sunlight can cause it to yellow. It also causes the flowers to fade faster than they naturally would.
  • To clean your piece(s), use water and a soft microfiber cloth. If there is a need to do deep cleaning, drop a very small amount of Dawn dish detergent in a bowl of warm water and wet a soft microfiber cloth in that mixture. Avoid “deep cleaning” unless absolutely necessary, as it can diminish the shine of the resin and make it appear cloudy. The best way to take care of your piece(s) is simply dusting it and keeping it safe.
  • Resin pieces cannot be left in extreme heat or cold. The fluctuating temperature of a normal home is absolutely fine. Thinner pieces, such as coasters and keychains, can soften and warp in high heat, but will harden back up when they cool.
  • Resin pieces also are not fans of humidity. Don’t place your pieces in an unventilated bathroom, in a sunroom, or something similar.
  • Flowers will fade naturally, over time, and become a more soft Victorian look, but nothing should prevent them from lasting for years and years!

Pieces can be polished by myself or another professional if the shine has diminished.
